April 4, 2014 News

The Town of Cicero is proud to celebrate the Month of April as the Month of the Military Child.  With over 19,000 military connected youth and many more veterans’ children in our state, every city and town is home to military youth.  Together with the Indiana Operation: Military Kids State Team, the Town of Cicero is asking you to help raise awareness for this worthy cause.

April is recognized nationally as the Month of the Military Child.  The Town of Cicero made a dedication to the cause through a proclamation read in the April 1st Town Council meeting.  We hope that by celebrating these military children the words of encouragement will help to lift their spirits and encourage them to stay strong.

Multiple celebrations for the Month of the Military Child are planned across Indiana.  Visit IndianaMOMC to see events in central Indiana.  There will be a state wide celebration known as PURPLE UP! Day.  On Tuesday April 15th, 2014, we encourage you to wear purple to show support for Military youth.  You can pick up one of the specially designed buttons in the Utilities Office to show your support!
