Parks Superintendent, Jim Hunter, directs all activities within the Cicero Parks System.
Currently, the Parks System is comprised of two main parks-Red Bridge Park and Community Park and the new Sports Complex. Together they consist of 50 acres with marina, pool, with a variety of playground equipment for all ages, picnic areas, two miles of walking paths including the path along Stringtown Pike, and five ball diamonds.
The mission of the Cicero Parks Department is to foster the natural, cultural and recreational heritage of the Cicero Community through the on going development of its 2004-FiveYear Parks Plan.
The Parks System has recently incorporated a brand new Sports Complex Facility. This complex consists of five ball diamonds for our local youth and is available for public/leasing use.
The Cicero Friends of the Park is a non-profit organization that is highly involved with scheduling events and helping raise funds for the Parks special projects. Cicero Pool Survey Closed and a Summary of the Results Are Available
Earlier this year, the Cicero Parks Department and the Cicero Town Council made the difficult decision in not opening the community pool for the 2021 season due to needed major repairs. A community survey was created by the Council and Parks Department to obtain resident feedback on the future of the pool. The survey became available at the end of May on the Town’s website and Facebook pages and the month – long campaign for feedback has been completed. 760 responses were gathered in the four (4) question survey.
The Town Council and Parks Department would like to thank residents and community members for taking the time to fill out the survey. The results gathered by this survey will assist Council members and the Parks Department in planning for the future of the community pool.
A summary of the survey results can be found on the Town of Cicero’s website by clicking on the Departments tab at the top of the page, followed by clicking on the Cicero Parks Department tab or by using this link: Cicero Parks Department | Town of Cicero Indiana.
For additional questions about the survey results, please contact the Cicero Parks Superintendent, Jim Hunter at email@example.com or calling 317-984-3475.
The Parks Department has completed its 5 Year Master Plan and would like community input. Please download the Plan and comment sheet below to help shape the next 5 years for the Parks in Cicero.
