NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED

ANNEXATION BY THE TOWN OF CICERO, INDIANA

 

Pursuant to IC 5-3-1, notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of Cicero, Indiana will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Cicero Red Bridge Community Building, 697 W Jackson Street, Cicero, Indiana 46034, to hear evidence concerning and consider the adoption of an Ordinance 12-21-2021-1, as amended, annexing contiguous lands into the Town of Cicero.

The area proposed for annexation is generally at the northwest corner of 231st Street and Tollgate Road, Cicero, Indiana.  The Annexation Area is approximately 84.9 acres generally bound by 231st Street to the south and Tollgate Road to the east.  More specifically, the proposed annexation is for parcels number 03-06-02-00-00-004.000, 03-06-02-00-00-004.001, and 03-06-02-00-00-003.000.

The complete file on this project, including a survey and full legal description of the annexation area is available for review between 8AM and 4:30PM local time Monday through Friday in the Town of Cicero’s Planning Department located 331 East Jackson Street, Cicero, Indiana.

A copy of the proposed Ordinance and fiscal plan is on file in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer at 331 East Jackson Street, Cicero and available for public inspection during office hours between 8:00AM and 4:30PM, Monday through Friday.

The Public Hearing is open to all and the opportunity to speak will be offered to all.  Written comments filed with the Clerk-Treasurer of the Town of Cicero prior to the Public Hearing will be considered.  Written comments may be submitted by to rgary@townofcicero.in.gov, or mailed or hand delivered to the Department of Planning at 331 East Jackson Street, Cicero, IN  46030.  Written comments will also be accepted during the Public Hearing.  The Hearing may be continued from time to time as necessary.

The Town of Cicero will make reasonable accommodations to people with disabilities.  Any person with special needs should contact the ADA Coordinator, Frank Zawadzki at 317-984-5845 or the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office at 317-984-4900 at least 72 hours before the scheduled meeting to discuss necessary special accommodations.
